With your support, my mission is to ensure that we create solutions for the issues facing our community. Right now, that means lowering taxes, advocating for good jobs and training for our residents, and making sure public safety is always top of mind.
The first plan of action is to lower property taxes for the residents of Edinburg. Many hard-working Edinburg families are suffering due to high taxes during a time of financial hardship brought on by COVID-19. Through my experience, I plan to help efficiently maintain all of our city operations while working to lower the tax rate for residents.
Edinburg residents deserve good, high-paying jobs to help support their families. If elected as your mayor, I intend to work diligently to bring new job opportunities and training to Edinburg residents to help us build a skilled workforce that attracts bigger business.
Public safety is an issue that I care deeply about. Part of my plan is to increase funding for our public safety issues and invest more in our police officers and firefighters to ensure our community always stays safe from any harm.
I ask for your vote and support so that together we can make this new vision for Edinburg a reality.
Your vote matters! Let’s work together to build a better and brighter Edinburg.

Gilbert Enriquez is a life-long resident of Edinburg. As a former Edinburg City Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem, Gilbert has a clear vision for making Edinburg a better city for all residents.
Gilbert pushed for hiring a city internal auditor to ensure accountability and transparency regarding taxpayer dollars.
He also advocated for online meeting agendas and public budgets to promote trust between city residents and the city government.
Gilbert is a long-time advocate of improving our city’s infrastructure. During his time on the city council, Edinburg upgraded city drainage systems in the following areas:

During his time on the city council, Gilbert lent his vote to initiatives that increased Edinburg’s fire and police department budgets.
Gilbert advocated for a lower tax rate each year during his time on the city council.
